STUDIO POLICY – Updated 2024
MONTHLY RATES
Weekly 60-minute lesson: $225/month ($56.25/lesson)
Weekly 30-minute lesson: $125/month (31.25/lesson)
Payment can be made by Venmo (@rachelsvoicestudio), cash or check made out to Rachel Roy.
Additional Fees
The lesson rate does not include accompanist fees or fees paid for voice auditions or competitions. Additional lessons are available, as scheduling permits, for students preparing for exams or auditions.
Scheduling
Lesson availability is at the discretion of the teacher and is subject to change.
Please choose a time that works with your other extracurricular activities and give sufficient notice if there is a conflict. A lesson calendar will be provided at the beginning of each month. Students and families will be made aware of lessons canceled by the teacher as soon as possible.
CANCELED AND MISSED LESSONS
48-hour notice must be given. Lessons canceled within the 48 hours of the scheduled lesson will be responsible for paying the full rate for the missed lesson. This includes cancellations for family vacations as well as school-related absences and will be strictly adhered to.
There will be no charge for lessons canceled with sufficient notice.
There will be no charge for lessons canceled for sickness.
If there is an uncontrollable or unforeseen event that prevents any lesson(s) from taking place, I will contact you as soon as possible to inform you that the lesson will not be held (i.e., dangerous roads, power outage, national emergency). Virtual lessons through Zoom are always an option in case of bad weather or lack of transportation.

NATS Competition: Mid-February – at Muhlenberg College

Drop-off / Pick-up
Students are to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before their lesson time and picked up no later than 5 minutes after the lesson has ended. If you are running late, please call or text.
Expectations
Lessons will focus on learning about your instrument - how to use it and how to understand the language of music. We will learn about music theory, solfege, sight-reading, scales, chord identification, score analysis, breath control, anatomy of the voice/vocal mechanism, audition/performance techniques, character development, musical genres and basic piano skills.

Your weekly lesson time is reserved for you. If you decide that you are unable to continue lessons, I ask that you give two weeks notice.
